Pentecost in the Land of the Great Mother
Rediscovering the Divine Feminine
An 8 Day Journey through Ephesus and West Anatolia
With Paul Skorpen (Spiritual Guide) & Yücel Temirodaman (Cultural Guide)
21.-30. May, 2021
The entire world is undergoing a transformation, a thorough ‘paradigm shift.’ And although chaos and uncertainty can result in anxiety, disorder is required for the birth of a new era.
The world has long been characterized by male dominance. Supported by the world’s religions, patriarchy and puritanism have prevailed. This extreme imbalance is leading to a collapse of our personal and social institutions.
Not long ago the Divine Feminine play the primary role in lands such as Egypt and Anatolia (the two cradles of civilization). Goddesses such as Isis and Asherah were worshipped in the Near East, and in Anatolia the veneration of the Original Mother, the Magna Mater, stretches back many millennia. Her varied expressions range from Cybele, Kubaba, Artemis, Demeter, Athena, Aphrodite, and many others concluding with the Mother Mary.
There is a deep and dire longing to recover balance by re-embracing the feminine stream lying dormant in our DNA, cell-memory and the great morphogenetic fields. It is our cultural and spiritual destiny to restore harmony and health after centuries of conflict and domination.
We will journey to the nurturing land of the Great Mother — Ephesus and Anatolia — with the sole and sincere desire to attune ourselves with the Divine Feminine throughout the ages.
The seminar tour offers healing, revelation and transformation.

The end of May is a perfect time to visit Turkey, before the summer heat sets in. If you wish to extend your stay, or arrive early, contact us and we can help make the arrangements. Our hotel, Richmond Ephesus Resort Hotel, is directly on the beach, has two large swimming pools, and in all-inclusive (food and beverages). It is set apart from town and close to Ephesus.
- The primordial earth Mother was worshipped in the hillsides around Ancient Ephesus.
- The Hellenic Greeks would come, around 1000BC, and transform this energy into the Goddess Artemis, daughter of Zeus and Leto. Her massive temple, the ruins of which are near Ephesus, is one of the 7 wonders of the world.
- The Romans came and re-named Artemis ‘Diana’. The Goddess energy is at home in Ephesus in eternity.
Over this week we will visit the home of Mother Maria nestled in the Ephesus hillsides (discovered after the German nun Anne Catherine Emmerich beheld in an inspired vison 200 years ago).
In Ephesus we will visit the expansive Old City:
including the great theatre,
the Roman Library of Celsus,
the various temples (including one for Isis!) and monuments,
and the infamous Church of Mary.
In modern day Selcuk we will visit:
the location of the Artemis Temple,
the massive Basilica of St John,
the Isa Bey Mosque
and the wonderful Museum (where we will encounter lovely statues of the Goddess Artemis).
We will also visit the Cave of the Seven Sleepers (which features a grave for Mary Magdalen).
Priene: The enchanting Priene was once a coastal town, built overlooking the Mediterranean on steep slopes and terraces. Today, after several centuries of changes in the landscape, it is an inland site. Priene was a cosmopolitan city: featuring a synagogue and an Egyptian temple. The temple dedicated to the earth Goddess Demeter radiates a fertile serenity. A dominating temple for the Goddess Athena is not to be missed.
We will enjoy a contemplative week as we explore — through meditations, talks, hands on treatments, and excursions — the extraordinary and powerful home of our rich spiritual heritage.
All are encouraged to attend!
